The singer was born on November 26 1986 to Santa Monica California in the United States of America. She is the daughter of her father Vincenzo Barba, and mother Valerie Barba. She and her family moved from Point Pleasant, New Jersey at the age of 6. Her schooling was finished at Red Bank Catholic High School, New Jersey. Then she attended Catholic University, where she was awarded a degree of architecture. From the age of 4 she was able to begin playing the violin, earning her the nickname Violin girl.
